Quick pipe size calculation

Quick pipe size calculation

Calculation of the section of the pipe necessary for the circulation of the fluid (hot - cold) required based on the potential

Welcome to the “Quick pipe size calculation” program. This program was created by Itieffe to offer a quick way to calculate the dimensions of steel pipes for heating and air conditioning systems. Correct piping sizing is essential to ensure the efficient and reliable transportation of fluids in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.

We will provide you with a general overview of what you can expect from this program, which focuses on quick and useful methods for calculating pipe dimensions, taking into account important variables such as generator capacity and temperature differential (Δt).

The size of the pipes is crucial to ensure the correct flow of fluids, avoid pressure losses and minimize operating costs. Sizing pipes accurately is critical to the success of engineering projects, from building cooling and heating to industry.

Accurate sizing of steel pipes is essential to ensure the efficiency and reliability of fluid transportation systems. This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully address the sizing of steel pipes, contributing to the success of your projects and the efficient operation of your systems.

We are happy to accompany you on this learning journey and provide you with the tools you need to quickly and accurately calculate pipe dimensions. Your mastery of this topic is critical to ensuring the success of the systems and applications in which the piping is used.

Quick pipe size calculation

Simple program which, based on the potential of the thermal machine (heat generator or chiller), performs the immediate calculation of the section of the pipe necessary for the circulation of the fluid required for the power involved.

The potential of the machine can be expressed in: kW – kcal/h – kJ – BTU – Ton.

The delta t (ΔT) in degrees centigrade (°C) can be entered manually.

The program also indicates the flow rate in m³/h of the carrier fluid required.

By entering the DN (nominal diameter) of the pipe, the speed of the fluid is found in meters per second. Consequently the program will indicate if the chosen diameter is good, poor, exuberant or not classified.
