Surface weight calculation for quadrangular air ducts

Surface weight calculation for quadrangular air ducts

Developed which, with the insertion of a few data, allows the designer to immediately calculate the weight and square meters of quadrangular ducting to be used. The repercussions on the computation of the whole are evident.

This program was created by Itieffe to provide an out-of-the-box practical approach to determining the weight and surface area of quadrangular channels, an essential aspect in the design and evaluation of structures and systems in various industries.

Calculating the weight and surface area of quadrangular ducts plays a crucial role in understanding air distribution. This program will guide you through a precise and fast calculation process, allowing you to obtain reliable results to use in your design and analysis activities and will greatly facilitate the calculation of the plant from an economic point of view.

With the use of this program, we will explore several key points:

  1. Overview of Quad Channels: We'll start with an overview of the characteristics of quad channels. We will be made aware of the perimeter, surface area and weight per meter of this component depending on its size. This will provide you with the context you need to understand the importance of this calculation.
  2. Parameters and Variables: We will examine factors that influence the weight and surface area of quadrangular channels, including size, material thickness and other relevant parameters. You will learn how to identify and enter this data to get accurate results.
  3. Use of the Calculation Program: We will guide you in using our calculation tool, providing clear instructions on how to enter the necessary parameters and obtain the weight and surface area of the ducts that are part of the desired system. Once you have acquired a little dexterity, the calculation will be very fast.
  4. Interpretation of Results: You will learn how to interpret the results obtained by the calculation program and how to use this information in your design, analysis and evaluation activities and above all it will allow you to carry out a complete computation of the materials involved.
  5. Practical Applications: We will use concrete examples to demonstrate the usefulness and practicality of calculating the weight and surface area of quadrangular channels in real scenarios.

We are confident that this calculation program will provide you with the tools you need to tackle the weight and surface area calculation of quadrangular canals efficiently and accurately. Whether you are an engineer, designer, technician or student, we invite you to explore this program and apply the knowledge you gain to enhance your understanding of the structures and systems in which quadrangular channels are employed.

Surface weight calculation for quadrangular air ducts

Process which, with the insertion of a few data, allows the designer to immediately calculate the weight and the square meters of quadrangular ducting to be used in air distribution systems.

It can also be used inversely to calculate the weights and surfaces to be insulated, in existing systems.

The repercussions on the computation of the whole are evident (see: Estimative metric computation).

Instructions

How to proceed

Box 1

a – The first thing to do is give the trunk a name.

b – Enter the dimension of the longer side in millimeters (mm).

c – Enter the dimension of the smaller side in millimeters (mm).

d – Enter the length of the stretch in question in metres.

Box 2

e – Enter the thickness of the channel in tenths (for the dimension you can consult the dedicated document: Channel sheet thicknesses

Box 3

f – Enter the expected scrap K (pure number indicating parts of channels that will be lost between brackets, bayonets, etc.) which normally varies between 1,1 and 1,35.

g - carry out the same procedures for all the other sections of the canalization.

Box 4

h – view the totals with which, having the unit amounts available, with a simple multiplication, you can easily arrive at the costs of the channels and any insulation.
