Consolidated building law (presidential decree 380/2001) – Version 9 of 20/07/2022

The “Consolidated Building Law”, also known as “TUE” or “Consolidated Building Law”, represents one of the fundamental pillars of building and construction legislation in Italy. This legislative document was created to regulate and regulate all activities related to the construction sector, from design to construction, up to the management and maintenance of properties.

Its importance stems from the fact that the construction sector has a significant impact on the economy, the environment and people's daily lives.   3. Authorization procedures: the text establishes the procedures to be followed to obtain the necessary authorizations to start a building project, including building permits and urban planning variations.
  4. Safety regulations: the TEU promotes workplace safety on construction sites, defining rigorous rules to prevent accidents and injuries.
  5. Environmental Protection: the TEU includes provisions for environmental protection, such as construction waste management, conservation of cultural heritage and measures for energy sustainability in construction.

This Text is subject to periodic revisions to adapt to new needs and regulations. Its importance in the building and construction sector in Italy is fundamental, as it provides a comprehensive legal framework to ensure that buildings are carried out correctly, safely and respectfully of the environment, thus helping to shape the urban and rural landscape of the country.
