Calculation of duct insulation

Calculation of duct insulation

Easy program which, by entering a few values, immediately calculates the surface area of the ducts and insulation of the aeraulic circuit under consideration. Valid for quadrangular and circular ducts. In addition to the thickness of the insulation, it is possible to enter waste values (percentage of materials that are lost during processing).

Welcome to this program created by Itieffe which will lead you through the complex process of thermal insulation of ducts.

The insulation of ducts is a fundamental aspect to guarantee energy efficiency in buildings, industries and infrastructures. This process not only helps maintain the optimal temperature inside the ducts, but also saves energy and reduces thermal losses.

Throughout this program, we will explore the key concepts of duct insulation in detail. We will guide you through the importance of thermal insulation and show you how to calculate the quantity and surface area of insulation needed for ducts of various shapes, from quadrangular to circular, with significant benefits also from the point of view of computation.

It will be a journey dedicated to precision and efficiency, because understanding how to correctly insulate ducts is essential for energy saving and to guarantee the correct functioning of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

So, get ready to immerse yourself in this world and master the techniques necessary to carry out the calculation for effective and sustainable insulation of your ducts. We are ready to start this journey with you, because energy efficiency is a priority for a better future.

Calculation of the insulation surface for quadrangular and circular ducts

Calculation of duct insulation

Easy program that, with the insertion of a few values, immediately calculates the surface of the ducts and insulation of the aeraulic circuit under consideration.

Valid for quadrangular and circular ducts.

In addition to the thickness of the insulation, it is possible to insert values of the scraps (percentage of materials that are lost in processing).

Instructions

The first thing to do is to choose the type of funnel:

  1. channeling - quadrangular;
  2. we enter the thickness of the insulation - 40 mm;
  3. we indicate the percentage of scraps (losses of material for special pieces and more) - 10 (%);
  4. we give a name to the features of the trunk;
  5. value in millimeters of the base - 800 mm;
  6. value in millimeters of the height - 800 mm;
  7. we enter the length in meters of the section of the canalization - 20 m.

Let's read the results once all the boxes are filled:

  1. total square meters of the canalization - 418 m²;
  2. total square meters of insulation - 529,8 m².

Let's take an example with a circular funnel:

  1. channeling - circular;
  2. we enter the thickness of the insulation - 40 mm;
  3. we indicate the percentage of scraps (losses of material for special pieces and more) - 10 (%);
  4. we give a name to the features of the trunk;
  5. value in millimeters of the diameter - 800 mm;
  6. we enter the length in meters of the section of the canalization - 20 m.

Let's read the results once all the boxes are filled:

  1. total square meters of the canalization - 328,1 m²;
  2. total square meters of insulation - 415,9 m².
