It is specified that for the purposes of fire safety air conditioning, air conditioning and refrigeration systems must always be considered, in particular if they contain flammable refrigerants (2, 2L and 3), and that, according to the TUPI, for a correct FIRE FIGHTING STRATEGY (Chapter S.10 Safety of technological and service systems) if there is no RTV (Vertical Technical Rule, the specific decrees below), the applicable CEI and UNI standards apply. - DM 10 March 2020 "Fire prevention provisions for air conditioning systems included in activities subject to fire prevention controls".
- I RTV decrees that specify the limitations to the installation of air conditioners and the related fields of application have been drawn up in a coordinated and updated form by the Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade of Ascoli or by recent updates of the law and can be downloaded for further information via the following links:
Surely the fire prevention legislation would need a further update but for installers and maintenance technicians it is advisable that, in addition to the requirements of UNI EN378, they also pay attention not to fall into the aforementioned cases in which the use of flammable refrigerants is prohibited.
