Calculation of electric power for electric pumps

Calculation of electric power for electric pumps

Calculation of the power absorbed by different types of electric pumps

We are pleased to present you an extraordinary program created by Itieffe that will revolutionize your ability to calculate the power required to operate electric pumps. In a world where the circulation of water in plants is a fundamental operation in a wide range of sectors, understanding the power required for electric pumps to obtain it is crucial.

This program was created to simplify the complex calculation process, making it accessible to everyone from engineers to technicians and plumbing enthusiasts. It will guide you through the steps necessary to determine the appropriate power to run your electric pumps efficiently and effectively.

But let's go beyond the numbers. We will also explore basic hydraulic principles, such as flow rate, gauge head and efficiency. You will learn how to properly design and size your pump system to meet the specific needs of your use case.

Furthermore, we will discuss the practical importance of accurately calculating the power needed for electric pumps. You will see how this calculation is fundamental to guarantee the efficiency of the system, save energy and extend the useful life of the pumps.

We hope that this program will become a useful resource in your professional activity or personal interest. This tool will provide you with the skills needed to calculate the required power accurately and reliably.

Let's start this journey together, discovering the world of electric pumps and calculating the power needed to make them work optimally.

Calculation of electric power for electric pumps

Process that allows the calculation of the power required for the operation of different types of electric pumps

By selecting the type of electric pump from the drop-down menu and entering the required data, reliable results are obtained, useful for evaluating the power necessary for its operation.

Instructions

Let's analyze the program using the drawing below as an example

1 - the first thing to do is to identify the type of electric pump using the drop-down menu - “generic centrifuge at 1.450 rpm”.

2 - enter the operating temperature of the system choosing between degrees centigrade (° C) and Fahrenheit (° F) - degrees centigrade = 80.

3 - determine to what extent indicate the pump flow rate by choosing from the drop-down menu - cubic meter / hour = 20.

4 – insert the required head by indicating the value via the drop-down menu – mH2O = 30.

5 - enter the pump efficiency by choosing it from the values indicated in the table - µ = 0,60.

6 - we indicate the percentage increase to be applied to the absorption in kW axis = 25%.

7 – we indicate to what extent the total absorption of the pump must be calculated by choosing from the drop-down menu – kW.

The calculated value is 4,3 kW (kilo Watt).

Easy right?

good job
